  • Beautiful work! What a stylish way to add some towel storage. The finish looks perfect, too! What did you use?
By RYOBI Nation, on September 2, 2016

  • The finish is all paint. Light brush strokes with dry brush , layer by layer.

  • That's a great tip for getting the distressed finish! Thanks for sharing this with us.

  • This turned out fantastic! The colors you chose for the piece really add a nice, classic look. Very smart to add the extra support with empty paint cans. Did you use anything to keep those in place?
By RYOBI Nation, on September 1, 2016
    • Yea well I used left over 1/4 inch paneling to line the top and bottom of each suitcase and I was going to bolt them together anyway so I figured might as well go through the paint cans so there glued down and bolted through the bottom of the can-1/4 inch-suitcase-suitcase-1/4inch and finally thru top of paint can

  • Amazing turn out! This is sure to be the hit of your next game/fight night. It looks like there will be more than enough space here for your snacks, and even plenty of room to kick up your feet. You did a great job with the rustic look- even thought it's stained, the character of the pallet wood shows very nicely. Did you distress the finish at all?
By RYOBI Nation, on September 1, 2016
    • Thank you, and yes most of the wood was pretty distressed already and I left the nail holes alone I like the character it gives also while sanding on some parts I sanded back down to bare wood so it wood show through while applying polyurethane I also have a video which I explain things a lot more of the build https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJ3mPWO6ABg check it out there's a part 2 also this table will definitely be one I build again!

  • This looks great! What a perfect way to use pallet wood to add character to your space. Did you use a nailer to affix the boards to the wall?
By RYOBI Nation, on September 1, 2016

  • What a beautiful wall... could add lots of character to a living area. Congrats on your win!!

  • Great build! This is absolutely perfect for the space. It's a really impressive use of a pallet, too. Really like how you can see the original structure of the pallet- that really adds to the rustic, reclaimed look. Nice work!

  • Awesome and stylish storage solution! Did you wind up staining the finished projects or are you going all natural?

  • Need: Met! Great use of pallet wood, and great way to put your DIY skills to really practical use. Your sister must be really excited about all the extra space she has under her bar now!
