  • Beautiful work! The look of live edge lumber is really rustic and timeless. What method did you use to affix the lumber to the base?
By RYOBI Nation, on September 5, 2016
    • On this one we drilled through the seat into the base then filled the holes prior to staining, it's hard to see with the grain however using pocket holes on the legs would also be an option

  • Another fantastic solution for function, form and storage. This is truly beautiful. What did you use for that aged-copper look around the inside of the frame?
By RYOBI Nation, on September 5, 2016
    • We didn't do anything special, we used Minwax stain in Provincial but we don't use any pre-stain conditioner so the new spruce 1x4's take less stain and end up with that lighter copper look than the rough cut wood and plywood

  • It really turned out beautifully. Thanks for sharing!

  • This is a beautiful turn out! It's a really unusual and lovely design. Your choice of stain and finish looks great- what kind of stain did you use?
By RYOBI Nation, on September 5, 2016
    • Thank you! I used Kona stain and then polyacrylic.
      By Jen K, on September 5, 2016

  • Great Job! Simple, eloquent, and unique. It looks like it has a 'beachy' appearance with the colors being two toned. For your first project and without any plans, I am impressed!
    By Mkjax1, on September 5, 2016

  • Just beautiful! Totally agree with Mk- it's amazing that this is your first project!
By RYOBI Nation, on September 6, 2016

  • What a creative way stay true to the rustic design of your kitchen! Does this door completely replace the original fridge door, or did you place the new build over the door?
By RYOBI Nation, on September 5, 2016
    • IT'S A SEPARATE ENCLOSURE BUILT AROUND THE REFRIGERATOR.
By GRIZZ, on September 6, 2016

  • Sugarfreeschwartz strikes again! This really looks great- it's amazing that this is your first furniture attempt! The stain looks perfect- what color did you choose?
By RYOBI Nation, on September 6, 2016
    • Thanks! We really like it. For the stain I used the industry standard Dark Walnut.
By sugarfreeschwartz, on September 7, 2016

  • I love the legs on both the table and benches. They give the project a flair. You must be a busy man. lol. Woodworking was the best hobby for me. Looks that way for you too.

  • This looks amazing. You made a really good call on the design, and especially letting the character of the pallet wood show through. Love those tapered legs. Did you design this yourself?
By RYOBI Nation, on September 6, 2016
    • Yes the table and legs were all my design. Thank you for your comments!
By WoodWiseWV, on September 8, 2016
