  • It turned out great! Perfect use of the rustic look of reclaimed wood. Was it tough getting the dimensions exactly right for the cooler?
By RYOBI Nation, on August 12, 2016

  • Nope. Just took a little time.

  • Wow- huge improvement over the old closed-in design! This looks like it took a lot of patience and a lot of skill. Great choice in going with a square wall- it looks much more modern than the original beveled shape. Thank you for including the process pictures too! It's great to see a project from start to finish. Congrats on this major upgrade!

  • These are awesome! Not surprising at all that you've already built a second set- who wouldn't want these? Those bottom braces do look like they required some skill to get just right- you nailed it, though! Very nice work, as always.

    • Thanks, that means a lot. Thank you for giving me a place to showcase my work!

  • We're so glad to see it. Can't wait to see what you've got in the works next!
By RYOBI Nation, on August 12, 2016

  • I made a set of bar stools but when I sat on them they blew up. I am a little leary of making anymore. Did you use a pocket jig to fasten your legs a braces together?
    By nairb74, on August 17, 2016
    • I used pocket holes and wood glue for all of the joints. They are very strong. I did put some screws in at an angle to attach the cross pieces at the bottom. I just covered those ones with wood putty and you can hardly see the screws. We have had them almost a year and they are still solid. Let me know if you have any more questions.

  • Awesome idea! And it doesn't look like you had to spend too much time dismantling pallets. This would make a great potting bench too for any outdoor lovers out there. Great work!
By RYOBI Nation, on August 12, 2016

  • What a great idea. I can see this as a perfect project for a young person just starting out in woodworking. Little cost and something they could have for years.

  • Love this design! We've seen several full sized kitchen tables in this X design, but this is one of the first projects on Nation to use the design for an end table. Awesome work, and beautiful use of pallet wood!
