  • Awesome way to use the pallet! This looks really nice. The tall, narrow profile probably means this console would fit anywhere! The pallet wood looks really clean and straight! Did you have to do a lot of work to get the wood ready for the build?

  • This looks amazing! There's bound to be tons of copycat projects inspired from this one. Smart call on the LED candles, too! What did you use for the bricks- is that tile?
By RYOBI Nation, on August 31, 2016
    • Thank you! And thank you for hosting such a fun contest in which to be able to share it. We actually used some leftover faux brick paneling from another project (it comes in a sheet and is what is being cut in the 8th photo). It was kind of crazy how it all came together and we finally found a use for those scraps along with the pallet!

  • This looks awesome! A few more tools needed than a hot glue gun - but worth the finished product!
By Tcschenck, on August 31, 2016
    • Thanks! I guess I am progressing in my crafting/creating. These are the tools we use at the HD workshops and I really like them, so when I learned of this, thought it was at least worth a try! :)

  • Would you have a tutorial for this?
By gkbtigden, on September 7, 2017
    • Hello! Unfortunately, I do not have any type of tutorial handy. I made this project a while ago, however, I could probably still come up with some type of instructions, if interested.
By Sammilynn, on September 12, 2017

  • Well done! That is incredible when you think it was once a pallet.
By mrpip, on August 31, 2016
    • Thank you so much!
By WoodWiseWV, on September 1, 2016

  • Wow! The detail and precision here is amazing! You did a beautiful job on the two-toned staining, as well. It emphasizes the detail even more. Did you create this design from scratch?
By RYOBI Nation, on August 31, 2016
    • Thank you so much! Yes I did I sketched it out one day and just kind of went with it. It was one of the hardest pieces of paper to bring to life.

  • This turned out great! The piece will provide a lot of interest for the space, but it will not detract from the art you guys display on it at the same time. Good luck with the new gallery!

    • Thank you!!!

  • What a great, patriotic tribute! You really show some great skill in the construction and finishing of this project. Did you seal the top once the flag was painted on?
By RYOBI Nation, on August 31, 2016
    • Thank you Ryobination Nation!! And yes I did seal it with a satin poly!!

  • Love the rustic/modern design. It looks like it fits in beautifully in your home. Did you follow a plan, or go from scratch?
By RYOBI Nation, on August 31, 2016
    • No plans.. Keeping it semetrical on both sides and knowing my tv base width helped.

  • This is an amazing transformation! It's not surprising at all that you've had some offers. It's great how you were able to leave so much of the original elements of the door intact and still give it a complete makeover. That storage chest you added is especially convenient- great storage solution.

  • What a beautiful and special project! This is the kind of thing that your family can pass down through the generations. The detail on the side rails is really impressive! Was that part tricky?
By RYOBI Nation, on August 31, 2016
    • Thanks for the comment, The side rail took some time to line up the holes for the doweling to ensure everything was straight, but once the holes were drilled it was just fitting the doweling into the bottom board and then the top board onto the doweling, then I mounted it to the frame.
