  • Love your solution, but wondering if it could be used as a pool at a later date?

  • Very practical and beautiful. Thanks for showing all the steps.

  • I suppose the pool could be used again but I did remove all the exterior plumbing, pump, NG heater, and filter. It would require new plaster, plumbing, etc. And the water bills were atrocious as was the electricity. We had a couple pool companies over to estimate a resize/rebuilt. 28k-40K was the range of bids, way, way more than I wanted to spend. What you see was done for under 4K.

  • Very nice looking. We had the same issue with a swimming pools that would have cost too much to fix ($7k). I filled it full of dirt and turned it into a Koi pond.

  • Your pool is about the same size as ours. We turned ours in to the Garden Pool.

  • Do you have plans or anything (instructions on how you did this)?
By krissycoleh, on March 23, 2013

  • 4x4 posts and metal hangers for the 2x4s. Used a 2x4 for spacing between planks. Outdoor deck screws cost more than nails but they don't back out over time like nails do. I used 8ft. 2x4s (less cuts) between 4x4 posts and sort of "engineered" it as I went along.

  • Appearance is excellent. Are the doors professionally done?

  • The embedded lighting on the top shelf adds a nice touch. Great job
