Rated 5 out of 5 by David_LH from Light-weight and ergonomic. The Ryobi One+ 18V Quarter Sheet Sander (model P440) is a handy tool for simple sanding jobs around the home. The installation of the dust bag, sandpaper and battery is easy and quick. Using punched sandpaper is required for dustless sanding. Ryobi provided three sheets of punched sandpaper (P80, P120 & P220) in the box. The supplied paper punch template can be used to align and create holes in regular sandpaper to allow for dustless sanding. I have used the sander to prepare timber for staining and achieved a silky-smooth finish. The design is light-weight and ergonomic. The sander is a nice addition to my range of Ryobi One+ tools.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Big Man from Does What It Is Supposed to Do I bought the sander to do some finish work on a minor stucco repair. Paired with a super rough grit of sandpaper, it performed exactly how I envisioned it to. It smoothed down some crude stucco patches that stood out pretty well to the untraimed eye, to say the least. I painted over the spots to match the rest of the wall, and it looks like it was virtually untouched , repair wise. The quarter sander was super affordable and easy to use. I reccomend this product to anyone looking to do a clean finishing sanding job, especially if you dont want the hassle of trying to use electrical power in am area that has none, as in my case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jammer from As powerful as my previous corded 1/4sheet sander I bought this to replace a corded sander that died when I dropped it. This is a bit lighter weight but looks a little beefier at the sanding pad which is what broke on the other unit. I like the dust holes in the pad and how it just sucks out the dust so it doesn't clog the paper very quickly. The dust bag is a bit small, but easy to remove to dump it out. The plastic sanding pad cover doesn't stay put, so I didn't find it very useful. I mount my sander on a pair of pegboard hooks anyway, so the plastic piece just got in the way for me. I store it with my sandpaper now to keep it out of the way.

Rated 4 out of 5 by kmsullivan from Handy little tool I was excited to have this sander in my possession for a small project I was working. It performed well to the minor sanding I had to do to clean up the work pieces. It is ergonomic and well-weighted. I have to list two items I find deficient/lacking in ease of use that are normally high standards for Ryobi tools. The first is the power buttons: these are not terribly easy to access/press (though perhaps due to the nature of the tool vibration). The second is how tightly the battery latches to the tool; I find that it is easy release the clamps/latches but rather difficult to actually remove the battery.

Rated 4 out of 5 by flyeredup1973 from Great little sander I've had the P440 for a few months and have no issues with it's performance. The unit is light in weight and fits well in my hand. I would give it 5 stars if Ryobi would list the part number for the vacuum adapter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by FireGod from Love No Cord, Lots of Power, Great Dust Pickup! I was tired of fighting cords when sanding projects so I decided to try this out. So glad I did. It has incredible sanding power for a battery unit. The dust system picks up the dust pretty well into the included bag. I ordered the adapter to connect it to my dust collector when I am going to do lots of sanding. That makes it virtually dustless!!!! I like to keep a clean shop so less sawdust to pick up is a plus. The unit is also very ergonomic to use also in spite of it looking a little top heavy. Definitely my go to sander now. It runs through a 2AHr battery in about 15 minutes so have an extra one handy. I keep an eye out for batteries an Direct Tools and pick them up on sale so I have lots on stand by.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Seadog196 from Awesome Sander, Great job RYOBI! Bought this for working on my boat. The dust bag keeps the mess to a minimum. The unit is well balanced and works well on any angle. Performance is impressive, especially with the 4AH battery.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Alh1432 from Unfortunately had to return I had and old blue corded Ryobi 1/4 sheet sander that I have had for many many years. It finally broke, not the motor, just one of the spring clips that holds the paper. So I decided to get a cordless, unfortunately I had to return it where as none of my one + batteries fit into the socket properly, the were all very tight and hard to remove the battery from the tool. So I exchanged it for a corner cat sander.
