Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beast of a tool I got this tool after purchasing my first home. Our backyard was an absolute mess when we moved in we had 50 ft.² coverage of Ivy including poison ivy. I got this tool for the weedeater head with the plastic serrated blades to help destroying all the vines that Ivy brings with it. This tool was an absolute beast at destroying them. So I got the six-inch pruning blade attachment to go along as part of the expanded kit that also was A beast. It helped me to take down branches they were over hanging over my fence cut through roots in the ground that my trencher couldn’t break and the zip off the tops of stumps and trees that we had taken down

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great construction Just got this from Home Depot and assembled it. Construction is very sturdy compared to my older ryobi trimmer. Love the design and added replacement head for tougher weeds. The battery charger is smaller than expected. Thought it was a base charger, which I prefer. It’s just a device that attaches to the battery and is plugged in. Other than that, it’s a powerful trimmer and will last a long time. With the new design, I won’t get strings from weed blocker, get caught on my shaft. This is what burned up my last trimmer. The trimmer line seems to be much more stronger than the ones I buy from the store. This is what keeps me buying ryobi tools.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from “It’s just a cordless trimmer” I have had some gas, corded and cordless trimmers. Mostly replacing these each at new season. Last trimmer I purchased before my Ryobi was a 2cycle gas/oil mix one. I purchased that one with hopes it would last at least 3 seasons. It lasted 1.5... I went again hunting for a new trimmer but with hopes I could still use the attachments i bought for the last one. Long story short. I bought my first Ryobi tool ever. The trimmer didn’t just exceed my expectations but it outperformed a 2 cycle engine trimmer! I was blown away on how great the trimmer cuts and edges. Considering this... I’m mowing/trimming and edging St. Augustine grass, on a single charge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding piece of gear! I purchased this trimmer especially to clear brush, behind my new home, with the brush attachment. I brought it home and performed a little trimming and then procrastinated hitting the big job - the brush. I finally jumped on it and man this trimmer is the bomb! It hacked through the low brush and snipped off the fingerling trees with now problem. The second thing and maybe most important ... the battery. I have a reasonably large yard and the battery never felt like it was going down. I was literally at it for several hours and the battery still felt 90% charged when I heading to the garage. I am extremely happy with my purchase!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Challenge Accepted! I use this trimmer on a mountain biking trail for several hours at a time and it does whatever I ask of it. I use the trimmer attachment that it can with, but I also use my old hedge trimmer and cultivator attachments and it powers them just like my old gas trimmer. And I don’t have to mess with gas and oil! My only complaint is the crazy price in the batteries. My way around purchasing extra batteries is I bought the 40v 14” chainsaw (also an amazing tool) and will soon buy a 40v lawn mower. Each tool comes with a battery at a much cheaper cost than buying separately. With the 3 batteries from three tools I can share them between each tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cranks every time!! No more cussing sweat and tears! Got this because it accommodates all my old gas-powered accessories -- weed trimmer. hedge trimmer and edger. Very powerful. The 4-amp-hour battery out lasts me every time, charges fast. I especially like tit with my hedge trimmer attachment. Light, powerful, works when you want it with no noise. Without the noise, fumes and weight, I can do an artistic job on my trimming. To me a miracle! No more gasoline, mixing, pouring, spilling, cranking, difficult or no-starts, whining, moaning and cussing! Makes the job more pleasant and much easier. Recommended and my brother is getting one. I love it! Can the 25 cc pain in the kazoo!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy, so far I previously had a 18v unit that was ok but didn't last long. Drive shaft broke. Returned it under warranty. Since I already had a chainsaw and a power head in 40 volts I bought this. It's far beyond what I expected. I have 2-3 hours of trimming each week, 4 acres with lots of edges and stuff to trim around. It never bogs down, easy to control the speed, doesn't eat up the battery. Don't have to mess with fuel, no starting problems, not noisey, easy to reload the string. It's a little heavy and the battery takes too long to charge. The batteries are crazy expensive. Nothing is perfect. If it lasts I'll be happy. I'm 77 and it makes my life easier.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from As good as, maybe better than the gas versions the title says it all, this trimmer is a beast! Does exactly the jobs I need it do, just as well, if not better, than the gas ryobi trimmer, which I've also used. The battery version is lighter, more maneuverable, gives less vibration, and gives off no emissions. The power is there, this thing may actually perform better in some scenarios than the gas powered version. The only downside thus far is the battery use. You do have to stop to charge the battery once it dies, which could be a problem if you only have one battery, or your working on a large project that might take a while. If you have 2 batteries however, problem solved!
