From a woman's point of view...
I have used my chain saw now for about a month. Compared to my gas model, I find the battery operated chain saw to be very kind. It doesn't require aggressive yanking to get started. A simple flick of the button revs its engine. It cuts like a bread knife through wood and when I'm done with my task at hand, I release the button and the woods are instantly quiet and peaceful again. I've been clearing an acre of land for a house. My son does the big trees but I do everything else. I can run this chain saw for a few hours without it exhausting me because it's fairly lightweight. I did buy a second outdoor tool with the same battery so between the two batteries I can work a full day in the woods. After using it, I drain the oil, clean it up and sharpen it. I do think the chain saw could be designed for easier cleaning since I give it the same sort of cleaning I'd give a kitchen appliance. I've been tempted to put it in the dishwasher to get a few deep screw holes nice and clean, but I've refrained realizing outdoor tools aren't meant to look brand new forever. I definitely recommend this tool to someone with a passion for clean woods seeking a user friendly method to DIY.

Cuts great, short battery life
This is a great chainsaw that is surprisingly powerful for its size and for being battery powered. That being said, continuous use drains the battery quite quickly. Now I may have been tackling larger logs than a chainsaw this size was designed for, but continuously running it not only burned through the battery quickly but it also overheated the battery. I would have to wait till the battery cooled down for it to start charging in the charger (while overheated, the charger would give a red error light)

Awesome product
I got his for my husband to replace a gas powered one. He loves it and has had nothing negative to say about it.

Powerful and Quiet!
Purchased this chainsaw because I didn't want the hassle of bringing out my gas chainsaw with all the smoke and noise. This Ryobi chainsaw cut as good as my gas model without the mixing of fuel, smoke and noise associated with a gas chainsaw.
I even purchased 2 of the Ryobi 40 volt chainsaws for downed tree limbs and branches at my job for quick removal.
One 40 volt battery was used to cut up a 18' pine tree in my front yard and had power to spare.

Retired my gas chainsaw!
I have used this saw for over a year now with great success. From storm clean up to cutting logs, it works perfect. I did upgrade the chain so it cuts a little more aggressively.
The weight is just right and I like the battery being up top so it is out of harms way.
I would recommend a 5AH battery at the minimum for cutting as pruning small limbs doesn't use much battery power, but logs from about 6-10” will really drain the battery.

Lightweight and handy
I bought this to do trimming jobs around the house on small tree branches. It works great and the running time really surprised me. Able to handle bigger jobs with extra battery. I would buy again
