Excelent Product! Great Price!!
I recently purchased the Ryobi 1/2" Drill w/ 18v battery. I did this to reduce the wear on my Bosch and Craftsman drills... having a third drill lets me keep each drill loaded for each task when building cabinets etc; bit-changes on the 12v Bosch drill was beginning to cause problems with the chuck on it. I picked up a Ryobi biscuit joiner a couple months ago and was really impressed with Ryobi quality... thus the new Ryobi drill... and looking deeper into the Ryobi product line, I find many more tools I Should Already have!
The price was the biggest factor in favor of this drill, but the quality and reliability of the Ryobi biscuit joiner left me convinced this was a Good choice.

Unbelievable tool
I was surprised at the power. Literally surprised, compared to my 12 volt dealt, hitachi, and 20 volt worx. They are toys by comparison.
The first time I did an actual— I was driving a 3.5 inch lag bolt into the back wall to hang a cabinet( thru tge cabinet) so it was awkward( hole location) I got a thumb and forefinger finger on the drill handle and squeezed. Yikes! I thought the lag was going to go thru the wall. Lol.
Backed it out about a quarter inch. Lol. Use it to sharpen lawn mower blades. Great control. A little heavy, but that helps with the torque.

the drill you need
I needed a drill but i was tired of having to deal with a cord and i wanted something i could expand on in the future. I looked at other brands and most had parts that i may want missing or not a large selection of lawn and garden tools that use the same battery. I ended up at homedepot one day and i was just gonna get what ever was on sale. I ended up spending a bit more and got this over a 12v system and I am very happy i did. I have since replaced all of my outdoor stuff with 18 or 40v stuff from ryobi and started getting woodworking stuff as needed.

nice drill
This drill is easy to use and good for me. I'm a young female who lives alone in an old house, and am a first time homeowner. It has a simplified operation. I like that and it makes it easy to switch between projects quickly. The battery charged fast. It's light and powerful. The magtray and bit holder is great, and it has a good strong light. It's easy to change bits and is ergonomically comfortable to hold. The only thing that would make this better, is to have a rubber grip and the chuck, work the same way the impact driver does for changing bits.

Ryobi drill
I was disappointed that the belt hanger was not included as described in the accompanying literature and when I called customer service they said " the literature was included by mistake". They didn't even offer to send me the belt hanger that probably costs less than a dollar.

SO FAR SO GOOD...
My old blue-case drill had a broken switch cover. Since Ryobi does not seem to have parts or diagrams readily available I replaced it with a new drill. The new item is lighter and less bulky than the old and is a definite improvement. so five stars for that. But if you want a loyal customer base give us parts and diagrams for easily broken parts. Duh. Like Craftsman? The new drill is fine, definitely an upgrade. Not everyone replaces stuff; some of us will do minor repairs to good tools running.

The drill that’s there when you need it
I’ve had this drill for about a year now and have definitely put it through the paces. Used it for drilling through 3/16” sheet steel, 2x4s, and oak planks. I’ve also used it to mix 5 gallon buckets of drywall mud and paint. Even used some wire brush and buffing pad attachments with it. Every when performing demanding tasks, this drill comes through and doesn’t eat up batteries as fast as other the yellow and orange brands that I have used. When you need an all purpose drill, this is it.

Excillent Product Drill Kit
After a four year no problems usage of my previous Ryobi 18 V drill driver I using it for a purpose not intended and broke the chuck off of the front of the unit. After the purchase of the new 18V ONE+™ 2-SPEED1/2 IN. DRILL/DRIVER KIT it was put right in service. The lighter weight of the drill makes it easier to use for a longer period of time. The addition of the light also makes it easier to see what you are doing. Over all much better unit than other brands.
