Rated 3 out of 5 by from It was great, while it worked Within a year this great lil sander stopped working. This is not an isolated incident, many have commented that this happens. It seems the connection point to the battery isn't manufactured correctly and after enough uses it just doesn't connect properly to keep working. I started to see if there was a way to fix this issue but not easily for a <$50 tool. I used it to sand knotty pine wood in a 10x12 basement bedroom and by the next project (within 1 year of purchase) it was already having issues. And from what I can tell from Ryobi's website there isn't a repair available. Would be nice if they comp'd owners by sending them a new one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from compact and light weighn! I bought this about a month ago and used the first one for about two hours sanding drywall on a 9' ceiling. Well after a couple hours the orbital controller broke and the bed began free spinning. Home depot was more than happy to exchange the sander for me. I went home, put a sandwich bag in the dust bag Makes cleaning so much easier). and finished the 15'x19' room without further issue. The sander is lightweight and the power button does not get in the way. Hook and loop 5" sanding disc makes changing paper a breeze. Honestly Ryobi is for the home hobbyist and this sander is great for lightweight jobs. For the part time DIY'er thiss will do the job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for attachment to a reach pole I already had a Ryobi model P400 hand sander that I purchased a long time ago (when Ryobi tools were Blue & Grey). I needed to sand the facia on my home but wanted to use the pole attachment (see pictures below) to do it and that attachment wouldn't fit the old sander. So because I really like Ryobi One+ tools, I invested in this new Random Orbit Sander. The pole attachment fit this sander perfectly and allowed me to use this new sander to work on the facia of my home from the ground rather than on a ladder. It has plenty of power without adding excessive weight and the dust bag attachment is a real plus. Now I was able to sand from the ground and it really gets the job done. Nearly all my power tools are Ryobi One+ and I really recommend them to both homeowners and professionals.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Cordless Power Tool...But.... Have owned many cordless hand tools in my time ...appreciated every one of them including this Ryobi Orbital Sander....but it’s heavy to the point of being awkward at times...Hand pressure combined with total concentration necessitate more breaks to relieve the pressure required to hold and position this tool...My former Orbital Sanders had handles which allowed two hands for manipulation...but this Ryobi Sander is configured for one hand grasping the top of the tool...no room for another helping hand...then add excessive weight for a small hand tool...now you have an awkward and high-centered Sander...If the housing could be made with lighter materials...and with an accommodating handle for balance...I’m in !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sanding made easy! Never bought a sander before and this one was made easy to use! Comes with sanding pads that stick on the bottom like velcro! Just match the holes on the bottom and you are ready to go! It's also a "ALL in One." Just used the battery and charger that came with my all in one weed cutter and blower and was ready to go! Has compartment to catch the grinds which left also virtually no mess! Instruction told you what sanding pad to use and even how to move sander to get the best finish! The job I did on a old desk top now looks awesome! I love the RYOBI products so much we even named our dog RYOBI ! You will not be sorry with this product! Go out and get one right now! And the price was VERY affordable. Enjoy! Mike F.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight and total sanding freedom I am building a 8 foot by 8 foot 19th Century Greek Revival Book Case. It entails a lot of ripping and sanding and finishing of Red Oak Veneer and solid Oak facing. My work bench will hold four 8foot by 11 inch Standards. So I am working over top of each other. The majority of the cutting is my Ryobi 18 volt circular saw cordless so as a early X-Mas gift I purchased this sander as I already had the battery. (Ps have numerous other Ryobi 18 and 40 volt tools). It has made the project much easier as I have sanded down to 320 then “Popped” the grain prior to sanding between coats of polyurethane. It has great dust pick-up to help keep the project cleaner. This has been a excellent purchase at a excellent price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Good Orbital Sander!!!!! I just picked up my Ryobi orbital Sander because i wanted to Compare it to my Dewalt Brushless Orbital Sander, and let me tell you what it might not have a variable speed dial, but this thing can really compete with the Dewalt and it is a Quarter of the cost. i would highly recommend this product to anyone and especially to Ryobi lovers. This is a tool that is a must in your Ryobi Line-up and once again Ryobi just keeps Wowing me every day and week because i add at least 1 tool a week to my line-up, Ryobi as i always say " You have a Customer for life" Thank you again

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another home run! I bought this with agreat deal of hesitancy, as I didn’t think a cordless rotary sander like this could be very effective. This tool is excellent. Very easy to use, surprisingly good battery life, good ergonomics and very good dust collection. The only concern is you have to be careful not to remove TOO much material. Though it isn’t as powerful as a belt sander, it definitely holds its own against its corded counterparts. Why are you still reading this? Go buy one!
