TouchStart™ Straight Shaft Trimmer
40V 16" Brushless Chain Saw with 4Ah Battery & Charger is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 95.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Saw Thus Far I have used this to cut up a fair variety of trees (cherry, ash, white pine, poplar, walnut) and limbs up to a 15" cherry and a 22" poplar. Had good power. Nearly the same as my similarly sized gas powered stilhl. Ease of use us great. Large trees will run batteries out fast, but if you have time to address over multiple days you will be fine. You do need to remember that the chain tensioner requires the bar to be loosened slightly to be effective as opposed to most gas saws. Also recommend draining bar oil between uses.. Longevity remains to be seen but thus far it is a joy to use and is really nice if you need to tote it around in a car .

Rated 3 out of 5 by from works well for yard work I bought this saw as a replacement for a Dewalt 40v saw because I already numerous Ryobi tools including a 40v weed eater that works very well. The saw cuts well but I would not recommend it for the following reasons. With the oiler adjustment turned down as low as it will go there is way too much oil leakage. Do not set it down on anything you do not want oil on. The chain adjustment is a pain to get set properly and a real pain in the rear end to put the chain back on when it throws the chain, which it will do. I have owned numerous chain saws and this is the hardest I have ever come across to put the chain back on and adjust properly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great saw I bought this in August, but just got it unpacked to use here in October. One of the reasons I bought this saw is that it has a chain brake, which is a great safety feature. Have been carrying it in the back of gator while working on repairing bridle trails. When we run into trees that are down I use this saw to cut them up enough to open the trail. Have cut some trees that are bigger around than what the bar would cut straight thru and the saw has no problems cutting the trees. Works as well as carrying a gas chainsaw, but don't have to deal with the gas. Let a guy use it to cut a tree blocking the trail and he was so impressed he is planning on buying one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool for cutting wood in the city I had to drop several trees in my yard in the city. The trees needed to be trimmed back and topped before dropping. That meant cutting on a ladder. I have tried using a gas chain saw, but it is dangerous climbing a ladder with a running chain saw and even more dangerous pull starting a chain saw on a ladder. With the Ryobi chain saw, I just carry it up the ladder and start cutting! It has plenty of power to top the trees as well! Thank you for making a dangerous job much safer! I dropped the saw when I was 20 feet up in a tree and there was no damage to the saw! Incredible

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful Tool After borrowing a plug-in electric chainsaw for storm cleanup, I decided to buy my own saw for future use. I knew I didn't want the maintenance of gas, so I decided on battery electric. A tree fell across a driveway in an area where I didn't have access to power. I was surprised that the battery was able to last to remove the entire tree from the driveway. The chainsaw had more than enough power and battery life for this job and any others I may encounter in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Meets all my Needs Purchased 2 months ago for tree cleanup and works perfect for me. Plentt of battery life and with the batteries from my other Ryobi 40V tools I am set for any situation I can imagine. I have no concerns about taking down 12 to 14 inch trees with this and doubt I would have a need for anything larger. Been transitioning all of my 2 cycle yard tools to the Ryobi 40V family for about 2 years and have just 1 edger to replace and I am done. EXTREMELY PLEASED!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tons of power Since buying the chain saw, I've cut down several trees up to about 12 inches in diameter and have been very happy with the performance. The saw has plenty of power and is heavy enough to be stable without being too heavy. My only complaint is that the chain is not of good quality. Even though the chain hasn't gotten bound, I've had to remove burrs from it several times because the metal is just too soft for the application.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great/No need for mixing gas & oil I bought it last week, and took it out to cut several limbs that were across a path along which I take my dog for walks. Didn't have to mix any gas and oil, and it works great! The thing I like most about it, is there will be no problems with the gas going bad, so I will not have trouble starting it the next time I need it. If you only use a chainsaw once in a great while, even when using a fuel stabilizer. The chainsaw does not start so easy, and sometimes takes a lot of work to get started. With the battery, you just have to store the battery in an area that doesn't get too hot or too cold, and make sure you keep it charged. When you are ready to use the saw, just pop the battery in, and start cutting!!! Can't get any better then that!
