Rated 1 out of 5 by JohnFM from Poor quality, useless functionality I bought this attachment today to clear a weeded area. I followed the instructions and fitted the head as per instructions but each time I tried to use it, the whole head would spin off the shaft. I tightened it as much as i could using the locking pin, but it still comes off. What am i doing wrong? Is there a part missing to keep the head on the shaft? Also, one of the blades broke in the first minute of using it. For straight shaft models, insert black nut and turn upper housing counterclockwise. If necessary, use a wrench (not provided) or locking pin to hold the flange washer while tightening the upper housing,

Rated 5 out of 5 by RagWeed from You have to flip the Nut with the flange If you have a straight shaft with out a long arbor, you will need to flip the existing nut with the the flange, inserted nut with the flange into the lower housing unit where the flange is holding the lower housing unit onto the tiny existing arbor, turn the lower housing unit counter clockwise while holding the pin in the gear to tighten the nut with the flange to the threads on the tiny existing arbor. The instruction leave out the flip of the nut and so does the video. I did what everyone else did and seated the lower housing onto the nut and it kept coming off.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Scott2000 from Poor Product and Worse Customer Service During the first use the "Black Bolt", as the parts list said, came off, was ejected from the running trimmer and lost. First, the bolt was properly torqued so it shouldn't have come off. In any case, I was prepared to replace the bolt, even at cost. Ryobi was contacted to order another bolt or at least get the spec on it. Ryobi replied that this entire thing is a set and they would not provide parts. They recommended I take it back to Home Depot IF it's with in the window. People don't have time for multiple trips to a store when a product is faulty, particularly when it is something as simple as a bolt. This is a clear indicator on the quality of Ryobi's product, the level of their customer service and their disregard for the value of their customer's time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by darthwader from Great alternative to line spools. I bought my trimmer to cut weeds alone a fence primarily. The spool that came with the trimmer was just not up to the job. The line welded together and broken from the strain. This is the perfect alternative. You can use precut line sections or the plastic blades. The blades are very tough and really work on thick weed stems without too much wear. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MsSandPitts from Wish it was tougher I absolutely love this tool on my weed eater I just wish it could last longer when chopping down the tougher stalks of grass. It tends to break on the ends but it does still cut for a while. Then it breaks off more and you have to change them out completely. At least changing them out for new ones is the easiest part.
