  • Nice job on this! It will definitely make a nice gift for your friends! Is this a black stain?
By RYOBI NATION, on May 16, 2018
    • Yep...MinWax - Ebony. “Customer” selection although I’m partial to the darker stains anyway...lol

    • Does Ryobi sell a thickness planer? I’ve seen some reviews on YouTube from 2015 but haven’t seen anything recently listed on the product line.
      By xrcise02, on May 24, 2018
    • @zrcise02 We do not currently have one in our lineup.

  • Love your planter, it’s beautiful!
What type of wood did you use and size?
    By Grasshopper6, on May 12, 2018
    • Thanks! I used  2, 1”x4”x8’ pieces of cedar. I cut 12, foot long pieces for the sides and 2, 11” pieces for the bottom.

  • Nice build! Did you alter Steve's plans at all or follow what he had listed? It looks like a handy piece to have around the shop!
By RYOBI NATION, on May 11, 2018

  • Steve does encourage his students to make it their own, I did follow pretty close, but anyone who knows these plans will see I did adjust to my needs to include height, arrangement of shelves and of course the Texas Star. Very sturdy and mobile.  I am making two of these for a much bigger project you all will get to see later this year or early next year.  These will be use to house my Ryobi 18v tools. Doing a total workshop redo.

    • That's great! We like it when people go by plans and then make it their own, too!
