  • This is such a wonderful build! It has so many different uses! We love it!

By RYOBI NATION, on August 21, 2018
    • Thank you so much! I tried my best to come up with something original and as multi-use/reconfigurable as possible. My wife and I usually eat in the living room when we order Chinese, so I think the lower configuration will really come in handy :). I was a little worried before I stained it that it wouldn't look good in our room and was planning on just giving it away, but we actually are very happy with it.

  • Very nicely done, I could see myself using this all of the time
    By Ryouko89, on August 22, 2018
    • Thank you! Which part do you think you would use the most...the lower table for dinner/games or the removable pieces for "couch desks?" It's going to come in handy for us for game night tomorrow for sure. I can't wait to give it a spin!

  • These are awesome! How did you achieve the distressing?
By RYOBI NATION, on August 21, 2018
    • Thanks! Here are the steps I took:
      1. stain them in Dark Walnut stain, then apply 1 or 2 coats of Clear Shellac to prevent bleeding
      2. apply crackle medium or white school glue, let dry

      3. spray chalk paint on(<-- you really have to use chalk paint, not look like chalk paint, or it will not crackle)
      4. use detail sander for some area, and wet towel for wet sanding as well
      5. do apply either poly or wax to protect your chalk paint

  • These look great! How large are they?
By RYOBI NATION, on August 21, 2018
    • The overall size is  7" x 7" x 15" plus the hook.  They weight about 6 lbs each empty.  I'm glad they decided against the shepherd's hook idea of hanging them.  I'm not sure they would have held up in the sand.  Honestly the hardest part was the glue up.  Lining up the up end grain glue up was not easy.  I didn't trust them to last without the dowel pegs to hold them.  No nails, no screw.  Just pegs and glue.
By mrpip, on August 21, 2018

  • Nice job! I like how you left the wood pegs visible.
By fEzZ, on August 31, 2018
    • Thanks, that was my favorite part too.
By mrpip, on September 4, 2018

    • It was thanks.  Congrats on the win.  Hope you enjoy the new tools.

By RYOBI NATION, on August 21, 2018
    • Thank you so much.   This is actually my second guitar.   I've only built the two.  I'm getting pictures together to post my first.  It's been fun and educational.  I've learned a lot about patience building this one. Thank you again for the kind words.

  • This is so impressive! Did you use plans for this or come up with it yourself?
By RYOBI NATION, on August 21, 2018
    • Thank you! I was Inspired by a product my wife found online, but I drew up the plans myself.
      By Wreckn89, on August 21, 2018

  • Looks awesome!   Would love to see plans on this!!
By Bbrownww, on August 21, 2018
    • Thank you! I will release them on the Ryobi tools Facebook group once I'm done refining them to make it easier for others to read.
      By Wreckn89, on August 21, 2018

  • Looks amazing! I have been eyeballing a product like this online. Yours looks amazing!!
    By Crazylady34, on August 21, 2018
    • Thabks, materials for this cost me about a third to a quarter of what I was seeing online for similar designs. Plus I'm sure this is built with better materials and will last a lot longer! Join the ryobi Facebook group, I'll be posting the plans there soon.
      By Wreckn89, on August 21, 2018

  • You did an amazing job, hubs and I have been talking about making this for me, we've been looking at it online and it's so very expensive. How much do you think you spent on material? I'm sure it was a fraction of the cost. Great job!
By ksanchez, on September 4, 2018
    • Thank you! I spent a little less than $500 all said and done
      By Wreckn89, on September 4, 2018

  • great job, my wife has been looking for something like this - I see the list of materials - but no drawings of the plans. Did I miss that link?
    By user_hayes_183494, on September 4, 2018
    • You can't post plans on here, just pictures.
      By Wreckn89, on September 4, 2018

  • I need to make one of those, do you have any plans?
    By gidget6868_111564, on September 4, 2018
    • I'll be releasing the plans on the Ryobi Facebook group in the near future.
