  • Beautiful work. I really like that you used walnut instead of pine. It makes the table much more durable as well as looks amazing. I agree about Ryobi tools. I have a nice collection and the cost is the main reason I can afford them. I still have about 10 of the old blue ones. Still going strong. Keep up the good work.

    • Thank you! I'm growing my tool collection a little at a time. You can never have to many tools. In my opinion walnut is one of the most beautiful woods you can use. And it is fairly easy to work with. What tool do you use, that you thought at first might not be that handy, but you find yourself using it a lot more than you realized you would?

  • My number #1 used tool is definitely my table saw. Chop saw #2. After them it's all a tossup. The one I'm most surprised I use more than I expected would probably be my dovetailing jig. After finishing my chop saw station with 20 drawers that might not be a fair assessment. I totally love my rabbiting hand plane, if you are talking hand tools.

  • Terrific idea for re-purposing an old crib. This is sure to inspire lots of folks who have the materials but aren't sure what to do with them. Very nice work on the paint/finish combo too!

  • Your attention to detail really paid off- you nailed the rustic barn wood look. Awesome job on two toned finish, too. Great complimentary shades.
