  • Very impressive! This is the perfect way to keep the area functional without making it look messy. Great job!

  • This is really great. What a perfect way to get a lot of miles out of one piece. Love that stain color! What did you use?

    • Thank you so much! We used 2-in-1 Minwax Polyshades Kona Stain for the top and box. We finished the base and shelves with charcoal grey paint.

  • Is there detail plans for this?.... would love to see one so that I could make one to surprise my wife

    • Steve Ramsey has a great tutorial on his woodworking for mere mortals site. He offers really good tips and shows three generations of drawer organizers he made, and how he improved each one. It was very straightforward to make; once you make the outside frame you make and customize the divider slats. You have to be careful with the Dado cuts but once you have that down, it's easy to assemble. Good Luck.

  • This is fantastic. I hate the wasted space that generic drawer dividers create. I also like the curve you cut in to make it easier to grab utensils.

    • Thanks. We just refinished the outside of the cabinets and wanted to provide better organization for the inside.

  • This is beautiful! The wood dividers look smaller than 3/4". Are they from a smaller piece of wood?

    • I ripped a 3/4" maple board into two strips. The thick strip is 3/8" and used for the outside frame, the remaining (thin) strip is about 1/4" and used for the inside dividers. Here's a link to our blog that highlights steps in greater detail. It was real easy to make and has held up well over time. Good luck with your project.
