  • This is a beautiful gift! It must have meant a lot to him that you put so much effort and skill into building this for him. Thank for sharing it, and thank you for your service!

  • This is a genius design! There are very few people who haven't had to deal with wires behind a stationary entertainment center. What a great solution- and it takes up so little space compared to a standard console. You better get ready to built lots more of these- all your friends who come over are going to want one! Awesome work.

    • Thank you for the kind words. I have been asked to help a couple people build these for their homes, and a few requests to copy the idea. I love how it has already paid off when the satellite company came to change out my DVR.

  • This turned out great! Did you use a scroll saw?

  • Even if it's the wrong Big Ten school, I love the craftsmanship. Great design and finish.

    • Thanks! So which Big 10 team is the "right" one?
By HammerTime, on August 13, 2016
    • That would be the worst football team currently in the Big Ten, Purdue. Maybe I need to do one so at least we have something to look at during our tailgates. LOL

  • It turned out great! Perfect use of the rustic look of reclaimed wood. Was it tough getting the dimensions exactly right for the cooler?
By RYOBI Nation, on August 12, 2016

  • Nope. Just took a little time.

  • Wow- huge improvement over the old closed-in design! This looks like it took a lot of patience and a lot of skill. Great choice in going with a square wall- it looks much more modern than the original beveled shape. Thank you for including the process pictures too! It's great to see a project from start to finish. Congrats on this major upgrade!

  • These are awesome! Not surprising at all that you've already built a second set- who wouldn't want these? Those bottom braces do look like they required some skill to get just right- you nailed it, though! Very nice work, as always.

  • I made a set of bar stools but when I sat on them they blew up. I am a little leary of making anymore. Did you use a pocket jig to fasten your legs a braces together?
    By nairb74, on August 17, 2016
    • I used pocket holes and wood glue for all of the joints. They are very strong. I did put some screws in at an angle to attach the cross pieces at the bottom. I just covered those ones with wood putty and you can hardly see the screws. We have had them almost a year and they are still solid. Let me know if you have any more questions.
