  • Beautiful work! You executed this build perfectly, and that stain color! Couldn't be better. What kind of stain did you use?
By RYOBI Nation, on April 5, 2017
    • Thank you! This was a process of using Minwax Dark Walnut Stain and then white paint. About 10 minutes after applying the stain, I brushed on white paint one board at a time and used steel wool to blend in /wipe off the white paint.

  • How cool! These would make a really neat wall decoration. Your finish really enhances the luster of the wood. Nice work!

  • Thanks Ryobi Nation! These swords are functional for little hands, or as you mentioned would be awesome as an art piece. I hadn't thought of it like that. Thanks!

  • Love these! I would make these for my 3 boys (ages 10, 8, and 5), but I have a feeling we'd be going to the emergency room....HA! Very cool project!

  • Thanks thriftdriving! The kids I've sent them off to, seem to be doing ok at not injuring themselves or others lol the blade's themselves are sanded to blunt edges. I hope that our give it a go! It's a fun project, that really does open imaginations.

  • Awesome turn out! You really nailed the two-toned distressed finish. You chose a really great design, too- lots of farmhouse charm.
By RYOBI Nation, on April 4, 2017
    • Thanks! I originally started to make the table without the "X". But I thought the X would add to the look and overall design. So I threw that in.
