I purchased a 8 foot piece of treated wood by 6 inches. Cut it in 4 pieces 20 inches long for the top piece of night stand. I purchased 4 pieces of wood for the legs which were 36 inches long and I cut them to 20 inches each. They are 1 and a half inches wide. I purchased 2 pieces of wood 2 and a half inches wide by 48 inches long. I used them for the bottom shelf. Which I cut to 18 inches long and used 5 of them and the bottom shelf is 15 inches wide. I used my Ryobi cord drill to build it. This is my first project and looking forward to making more.
