I tried something new to me and I love how it came out. I made this project using a picture of my late Abuelita (Grandma). The frame is made from the wood of her old patio chair that she used to sit in. The chair was too far gone to rebuild, but it can live on in other projects.

I used Mod Podge to transfer the photo to the scrap wood. I then cut some strips from the old chair wood. I sanded them lightly to keep the aged look and texture of the wood. These were miter cut and mounted to the photo, which I previously cut and squared up.

Afterwards I gave it a few coats of Varathane Spray on Satin Poly. I think it came out beautiful and it’s a piece that I am very proud of. I hope to make some more of these types of projects and get better with my technique.
