A dock builder was nice enough to let me have a pile of cut-off wood scraps. All the pieces were pressure treated, so they would work great for wood pavers.
I made these pavers about 36"x36" by using a roll of plastic chicken wire cut into a square. Then I used an air staple gun and attached the pieces to the wire using a few 1/2" thick pieces of wood for spacing.
These pavers are put down just like regular pavers. I would not recommend making these larger than 36"x36" as they do get pretty heavy.
