Where friends and marshmellows get toasted at the same time!

We were in desperate need for seating around the fire pit, and we needed tons of seating space with three kids at home (and all of their friends of course). I built these out of reclaimed european wood pallets that I found at a friends shop. This was my second wood working project and it was definitely a learning curve the whole way. I had an idea of how I wanted the seating to look but didnt have a plan, so I essentially made one seat while brainstorming different ideas and it worked out very well. These seats are very rustic, and I have plans to extend the larger seat into a table/ fire wood/ seating arrangmenet when it starts to warm up again.

  • Awesome work on this! You certainly have plenty of seating now! Did you have to do a lot of prep work to get the pallets ready for sitting on?

  • Alot of sanding. Most of the time for this project was spent on sanding. Pallet wood is very rough, with lots of nails. Luckily the reciprocating saw is my secret weapon for cutting out nails. The final result is very comfortable!
