"Shadow boxes in the foyer? Can you do that?" My wife is attempting to crash my weekend(s) plans. Summary of project: cut holes in Sheetrock, cut out unexpected stud, frame out shadow box, mud, sand, paint, thinset for tile, grout tile, create and finish shelving. Install overpriced Pier One statues (wife picks again). Project Note: Without a tile saw, the design required 12" wide openings so no tile cuts would be required. It did make framing out the 16" wide openings were more challenging and required more 2x4s.
