About five years ago I built a second-story deck off the back of the house. It is accessible only from the master bedroom. Last summer I completed the project with a deck on the first level. That deck includes a hot tub, a couple of BBQ grills, a couple of tables and chairs, a small outdoor fire pit and outdoor speakers. I built the first deck with my 18V Ryobi tool kit - drill and cut-off saw. I used the same tools on the more recent deck, augmented with my then-new Ryobi chop/miter saw (don't know how I lived without that tool!).
Anyway, pictures enclosed. It's hard to see, but the new first-level deck also extends under the second level deck.
These are great tools!
