In 2002 I had done my first and only bathroom remodel. Twelve years later, my daughter found our first house was for sale and convinced us to help her buy it and fix it up. The first room she wanted to fix up was the bathroom. I didn’t blame her because when I had done the remodel in 02 we did not have much money to invest. Needless to say all of the fixtures were bottom end or clearance fixtures. I had a week of vacation in August so that’s when I started. I really enjoyed the demo part of the remodel. I also remembered some of the problems I ran into the first remodel. The walls not being square and the floor was not level. Luckily for me, I could find help on the internet with solving these problems the right way. I shimmed the walls and leveled the floor by jacking up and adding another pier under the house. I also remembered that if I did not make a list of supplies I would spend the day going back and forth to the Home Depot. Five trips! Three in one day, but it was worth it. My daughter is happy and learning how to fix things in her house. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed building or remodeling and am looking forward to the kitchen remodel!
