My daughter always wanted a bunk bed house to hang out in, the problem i found is nothing was the size we wanted or a reasonable price as her ceiling is 10 feet and her bed is a double. We decided to build one from scratch after looking up other ones similar online and gaining lots of ideas on the web. the result is a super secure and fun bed for her to grow with, the front will come off as she grows to accommodate a homework desk eventually.

  • Nice work. Did you break it down and reassembled it in the room? Everything looks very well done.

    • this project was a Christmas gift for my daughter so I had to build in secrecy covered by tarps in the garage.  Once it was complete I needed 5 guys to disassemble in the garage and take the 13 pieces up to her room to reassemble on Christmas Eve (taking about 3 hours to put back together).  Just the excitement I witnessed from her upon opening her door that eve made the project so worth it.

  • Nicely done! What a big project to take on! Did you run into any difficult spots when making this?

    • with every project I take on its is a learning curve.  Be it the gable angles or how to make the stairs the right height and depth or even how the heck I could get the bed up the stairs in pieces.  the biggest challenge I have now is adjusting the HVAC in the room by putting up a ceiling fan or register boosters to better distribute the air as it can be the hottest room in the house in the summer...
