I recently went through a divorce. The only table that we had in the home, my ex-husband insisted on taking. In dealing with the numerous hurtful elements of this experience, I decided to create as a form of therapy. For the past two months, I've been searching for a table to purchase and I've yet to find one I like. When this contest came along, I decided that not only will I build the table, I'd finish it in time for Thanksgiving. I've been taking classes at Home Depot to learn to take care of and make repairs around the home, so the skill was within me. Over the past month, this table has become the greatest thing I've ever made. I've become so passionate about it that the finished product brought me to tears. Every inch of this table, I measured, cut, stained, and finished my self. I'm grateful for the strength to create something that I'm so very proud of!

  • What an amazing, creative design! It's as much a work of art as it is a functional piece of furniture. You should be very proud of this accomplishment. Thank you for sharing this with us!
