The Coffee Table

  • November 7, 2017

Moved into new condo. Couldn’t afford to remodel kitchen cabinets. Started collecting affordable power tools to rebuild cabinets. Little sister buys new condo and requested for a coffee table. Needed to build something sizeable but not too heavy and be able to fit into a Honda Fit. The table’s underbody is completely detachable for worst case scenarios.

  • Such a cool piece! We love the mixed metal, piping, and wood -- especially with that warm grey stain! Nice work!

    • Thank you. First time trying something like this and it wasn't pretty at first. Almost had to scrap the build because nothing was coming together but I was pot committed from the costs alone, so I started to deviate from the plan and kept persistent.

  • That grey stain is great, what did you use?

  • The stain is wedgewood (behr semi-transparent) and then a coat of whitewash pickling.
