I was in a home-improvement store in the lumber section, I noticed the older gentleman struggling to load a piece of plywood on a cart so I walked over and asked him if I can help after we loaded the wood I left that area when I got in the parking lot I ran into the older gentleman again this time he asked me did I know how to build things I told him I did do a little bit of carpenter work building decks and other things he asked me if I was interested in building a Bridge across a medium size creek. So I told him I would have to come look at it, the next day I went to his property and he had a creek that needed a bridge approximately 28 foot wide his original bridge had been washed away by a severe storm over winter so as a retired fireman and always up for a challenge so I told him I would do it unfortunately he was not able to help much due to a back injury but I started the project first building the forms for the footings Then I measured and ordered the steel beams place them across the bridge fasting them to the footings After that basically building with treated lumber the deck and rails.
