I went to a building site and got several pieces of 2x6's and using my Ryobi sander got them smoothed out so the string would not snag on them. Using a Kreg jig I put the pieces together to make a 2 x3 foot area. I painted the wood red then measure and tapped off chevron stripes to paint black. I made a giant Texas using my computer and a program, traced it, put a heart in the area of our home town, Lubbock, and with small nails outlined the Texas and the heart. Then using string, and my heart as the foundation, I wove in and out of the nails making the design you see on the wooden canvas.
