I replaced one of the solid exterior doors in my 1961 house and could not bring myself to just throwing it away. After some sawing, sanding, fastening and finishing the Surfboard coffee table came to life.

  • I'm new to working with wood and tools needed. I wish you had a video or pictures showing how you made this.

    • Sorry I don't. Always wish I had when I'm done. I cut the door length wise and used one side for the top. I used a jigsaw to get the surfboard shape. I then cut the other side in several pieces and glued them together to get longer pieces. I then used the jigsaw again to get the shape for the legs. I did have to buy a 1x6 poplar board for the middle shelf, mostly for stabilization.

  • This is so cool! What a creative way to make use of your solid door- so much better than letting it go to waste. This is an awesome design- the way you did the legs really ties the entire piece together!

  • Thanks. It was fun to do.
