Storm Room & Pantry Conversions

We had an existing storage closet that we knew had potential to be something better. After looking through holes in the IT box I noticed there was a lot of unused spaced that could be converted in to a storm room. I cut an opening in the drywall, cleaned out the space, added an LED light, hung, taped, finished, and painted drywall, placed carpet squares and base. Then put a door with soft close hinges and magnetic catches.

After that I installed planks on the back wall and shelving in the pantry. Then we painted the walls and stained the shelves.

  • That was really smart to check the space behind the wall. We love what you did with it. Hopefully you won't have to weather many storms there, but it's great knowing it's there if you need it. We love the rustic details too. Thanks for sharing!
