I wanted to create a Spring inspired porch swing for a friend to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful flowers popping up! I drew a general idea, then adjusted as I went. The flowers on the back took the most time and attention. I drew one, engraved it with the Dremel, then had to figure out how to make another one, mirroring the first. To do this, I traced the engraved flower on paper and flipped it onto the other board and carved over the tracing with a sharp edge. Once both flowers were complete, they were stained, painted and distressed. The swing itself is made completely from repurposed wood, allowing a "green" and floral creation to be part of the outdoor decor.
