Solid Maple Baby Cradle

I built this early American baby cradle out of hard maple for my first grandson. Although I have a lathe, I chose to purchase pre-turned spindles as I had limited time to finish the project. All other parts were made by hand. I used my Ryobi cordless drills, my Ryobi router, my Ryobi biscuit joiner, and my Ryobi sanders on this project along with my cabinet saw and various hand tools. The cradle swings on maple pegs (not metal pivots) and uses wooden washers (lubricated with candle wax) between the moving parts as would have been the case with an antique cradle. The stain is maple and the finish is 4 coats of hand-rubbed tung oil.
