snake cage

  • July 4, 2015

My red-tailed boa, named Keyana, was living in a 30 gallon fish tank. She was starting to get too big for it, so i decided to make a bigger one. i took the fish tank apart, which was not easy. you need a very thin blade to separate the pieces of glass. I took the largest piece of glass and framed it with some reclaimed pallet wood. Then i made the other 3 walls, the floor and lid by making frames similar to the first one, but inserted slats with a small gaps in between each one to provide fresh air. i used the hinges off an old chest.
