My daughter was tired of having to share the bathroom with her brother and sister in the mornings. She wanted her own spot to be able to apply her makeup. After finding the Sliding barn door nightstand plans on the Shanty 2 Chic website, we decided to make a nightstand and vanity to match. The nightstand was constructed first, using the plans off the Shanty 2 Chic website. Then those plans were modified to make a double sliding barn door vanity to fit in the designated space. Two smaller shelving unit were made and a longer top was fit to extend over both sets of shelves. The railing for the sliding barn door was cut to the entire length of the vanity. Each piece was then painted and stained to look like barn wood. Of course, a vanity wouldn't be complete without a mirror! A mirror was framed with wood to match the nightstand and vanity. Now there is no issues in the morning. Everyone is able to look their best for the day.
