I wanted an eclectic, unique space to store my saddle and tack, feed, and other horse equipment. I also wanted space to store craft items to make my angels, crosses and horseshoes, and also display my whimsical collection of horse related, cowgirl and Texas décor.

Repurposed items: Leftover items from building our house included tin for the roof, a window for the front, siding, and various salvaged lumber. We salvaged 2 sets of French doors from a neighbor that posted on line, that had remodeled. I found the front door from a salvage place. It has an etched window at the top that I can just imagine came from a historic house in Dallas.

  • What an awesome space! What was your favorite part of this project?

    • My husband was the force behind this project - I loved working with him, and learning all the details in building something from the ground up.  My favorite part was putting up the siding on the back - all straight boards, lol.  I have a new respect for "level" and "square".
