1x 23/32" 4'x4' plywood $18
1x Wall clock kit $20
Drill, electric hand saw, sand paper (borrowed)
Paint and stain $15
We found center of our 4'x4' sheet, used a string and nail and traced out a circle measuring 48" wide. Then we using the saw we cut out our circle, sanding down the edges. Painted and stained the clock face, then attached the clock mechanism. It took no more than 2 hours (mostly painting) and less than $60 to create a custom piece that would have cost me easily $4-500 at a big box store.
