Santa Stocking holder

OK, it's not December, but I didn't make it in December. I love projects that will cherished by my family for years to come, and this was one of them. This was a fun project made mostly from 2x10 pine and using a Ryobi BS904 band saw to cut the pieces and a lot of sanding on a BD4601 belt/disc sander to shape the pieces. One key challenge was designing Santa's face the way I wanted it. I drew the jigsaw-puzzle-like pieces on the 2x10, cut them out with the band saw, then sanded them to the desired shape. The hardest part was shaping the nose, as it was slightly difficult to round the edges correctly on a belt sander. The boots were an afterthought and made from pieces of 4x4 and shaped. Another challenge was the hole for the 2x2 post.
