I an setting up a de-rusting program and using 550 gallon resin tubs to hold the de-rusting solution. When I ran a test on the tubs with water to ensure they would hold the correct amount of solution, I was amazed when the tub started to buckle with only 300 gallons put in. I had to construct a rigid frame around the tub to hold its shape when full. I used 4x4x8 pine deck posts and countersunk 5 inch lag bolts to hold it together. I also notched out the side supports that hold the top structure to prevent trip hazards when walking by. I contacted the company I purchased the tubs from to inform them that their product did not hold water, literally. They thanked me for contacting them and they are in the process of validating all tubs and their required specifications. Maybe I helped avoid a more serious spill for another customer who might have used a more volatile chemical.
