I built all of it with raw materials. We moved in to our hose last year. Within two months we had two walnut trees blow over in a storm. I slabbed then by hand, then stacked and dried them. Once slabs were ready I built the legs and “X” brackets. The brackets are welded round bar stock. Painted brackets and legs. Then joined, planed, sanded, and finished the top with polyurethane. The wood used as an inlay is mahogany. The end product is gorgeous.

  • You're so right about that! It's gorgeous!! What was most challenging about this build?

    • Thank you,

I would say the patience that I had to have with waiting for the wood to dry before I could use it and getting the slabs uniform in thickness were the hardest parts of this build.
