Here is a Coffee table and set of End Tables that I put together. The Coffee table has a trundle that pulls out to reveal a storage area. All tables are made from 1x2, 1x3, 1x4, 1x6, and 2x2's. After assembly, I pre treated the wood with a wood conditioner. I then used a cherry stain as a base layer. After the base layer dried, I used a candle mark areas that i did not want the top layer to absorb into too deeply. I then went with an ebony stain on the top layer that was wiped off after about 3 minutes. I then used 00 steel wool to remove the wax and any surface imperfections (dust). After wiping off residue, I applied a 3 coats of Polyurethane.
