Rustic Accent Wall

My wife has always wanted an accent wall in our dining room. After looking at what seemed to be thousands of pictures online, I decided it was time to do it. This project is made from 1/2" firring strips and cheap fence boards. The end result was way better than expected and everyone loves it! It's a time consuming task, but it doesn't require that much skill at all.

Very cool! I would have never thought to use fence pickets for this project.

Such an awesome idea. And a project that could be done in a weekend and fairly inexpensive.

It won't let me edit the project to add detailed instructions, but I'll look for a way to get you some plans.

Did you use pine or cedar fence pickets? And what kind of paint did you use?

I used pine in an effort to keep cost down and because I painted them. You could definitely use cedar as well, it would just raise the cost of the project.
