My girlfriend's clock, resting on a mantle, had fallen off. I wanted to surprise her with a rustic, farmhouse looking clock. I located an oak pallet and went to work. After a cutting the boards to shape, I aged them with a vinegar/steel wool solution. I found a high torque clock movement from southeasternclocks.com and some rusty Roman numerals from Thor's Forge on Etsy. Assembled after a couple raggings of Antique White from Varathane.

  • Beautiful turn out! The finish and the rusty look of the numbers all go together so perfectly. Your GF must have been thrilled to receive this thoughtful gift.
