Rocking Horse

I have five grandchildren between one of my daughters and my daughter in law. I always wanted to make at least one rocking horse for each family so the grandchildren had something to remember me by. My youngest daughter was pregnant with her first baby and she lost the child. This gave me the push I needed. I had my daughter in-law sketch a horse that I used for a pattern. I do not have the best tools but with what I have I made the one in the picture. I used all old wood I found. Being my first one getting the arches on the rockers and the center of gravity correct was a challenge. I do own a few 18 volt Ryobi tools and look forward to getting more or at least the new lithium batteries for the ones I have. If you take a good look you will see enough mistakes but from a distance and considering it is a toy to be used I think it turned out good.
