My wife and I moved to Roswell, NM for a job and bought our first house together. The entire home is going to be remodeled by me, including laminate flooring in 3 bedrooms, hall, living room and dining room. I am going to remodel both bathrooms completely cutting them and tiling the shower areas and floor. I am also going to remodel the laundry room with tile and kitchen as well. We are going to change some walls around and change the cabinets as well.
I worked construction about a year with my brother a long time ago, so I now some basics, but had no idea how hard some of the things would be. I am new to some of it and I have watch many videos from different resources to help get perspective on different ways to lay tile, what material to use, how to tape, texture and mud a wall. It really is an art and I definitely have not master it! It is a learning experience and we have many more rooms to go. One thing I found out really fast though, was that having the right tools makes the job way easier. Having a full time job and then remodeling full time can really make you tired, but my loving wife is very supportive and does all the painting that I do not want to do while I am working on the other things. I definitely could not accomplish it without her. Making a house into a home is a lot of work.
