This was done with all recycled products: wood, brick, block, Windows, and doors. It took our family nearly 3 years to collect the materials, plan around the windows, dig the foundation by hand, and build this!

    • Well since we dug 42" down by hand and laid hundreds of those old 8x12x16 blocks that weigh 82lbs each, it would be pretty hard to move. Those make up the wall up to about 30" all the way around. Thanks for your kind words though. We did this with very little purchased at a hardware store - nearly everything was recycled and given to us over the course of 2 years and another 3 years to build it with my kids. It has been a great project to do with them and a learning experience for all. Most of all, happiness isn't always immediate and at the end of a finger tap on a phone - it can be built and take time!
