Reclaimed Wood Accent Wall

My bf and I are somewhat addicted to HGTV and Fixer Upper and always wanted to do a reclaimed wood accent wall at our house. So with little research, a few trips to demo sites and Home Depot damaged wood clearance section (70-80% off the regular price) we had enough pieces to do the wall. I used wood planner to smooth out some of the pieces, while leaving others in its original form. We also used 3 different shades of wood stain and white & light grey paint to create some contrast.

  • Wow good work guys! You've inspired me to try this out myself, perhaps on a smaller scale like a powder room. I have about 100 lf of reclaimed wood from Pennsylvania barns that have been knocked down.

  • Thank you. You are off to a great start with 100ft! ! Wish we had it when we got started. I'd suggest to decide on 3-4 sizes (12, 24, 36, 48 in) and pre-cut it as it would make your life a lot easier. If you need extras, stop by Home Depot woods scraps section (normally in the back) where you can get them at 70-80% off.
