My wife and I did not like the lighting in the kitchen of our new home so we did some research. We decided on recessed lights over each of the counters to lighten up the room. I bought a 5" hole saw for a 5" can. I made the hole with my Ryobi drill. That didn't work too well. It was about 3/4" too small. So, I whipped out my Ryobi reciprocating saw and cut the holes pretty easily. I pinned up a trash bag to catch the saw dust which worked very well. There were two cross beams in the path where I wanted the lights so I just moved them 6 inches. The project turned out very well and the lighting is awesome! We will soon budget to put the same lights in the dining room.
