I was given a riding lawnmower for free, the two problems were (1) I needed to get it out right away and it didn't run, and (2) I didn't have ramps.
On my way home from work, I stopped by H.D. and bought the pressure treated 2x10s and the ramp kits. I needed to replace my miter saw since my 15 year old blue 7.5" miter bit the dust last week. Time for an upgrade!
Took about an hour total including taking the saw out of the box. 8 holes with the drill, impact the bolts for the ramp ends, and set the new 12" sliding compound miter saw (perfectly zeroed from factory) to 45° for an end bevel. Screwed 3 hinges per set of boards for either a single 20" wide ramp or a 40" wide walk board.
If you have a truck, and you haven't done this project, you need to. It will get more use than you can imagine!
